Batiks and hand-dyed cottons; hand applique and free motion quilting.Artist's Statement:
I wanted my piece to reflect how dementia can disrupt the order and flow of a life and those of the people who care about that person.
In memory of my mother, Phyllis Butler. My mother suffered from short term memory loss, one type of dementia. All the colorful elements which together formed her life and personality slowly lost their form and focus until they were no longer defined, making it hard to see the person she once was.
