Marquette, MI USAWidth:
Cotton fabric, cotton quilt batting. This piece started as an exercise in improvisational quilting. I sewed scraps and strips together and then cut the piece apart randomly, and resewed it, thus creating the "broken memories." The piece is machine quilted.Artist's Statement:
The cheery colors in this quilt are a contradiction with the broken lines in the design. Some memories are cheerful, but, for an Alzheimer's patient, they are broken, and hard to remember. The concentric circles in the quilting symbolize the anxiety and confusion suffered by many people with this disease.
This quilt is displayed with Fast Finish Triangles
This quilt earned $40.00 for the AAQI.
