Materials/Techniques: Cotton and silk fabrics; cotton batting; silk, cotton, polyester, and metallic polyester threads. There is a drop of Fray Check on the tip of the hummer’s beak. The petit point stitching is by hand, piecing and quilting are by machine.
Artist's Statement: The petit point humming bird in the center of this little quilt was stitched with silk threads on 40 ct. silk gauze and includes a small amount of blending filaments to give a bit of glitter to the hummer. The design is “White-eared Hummingbird” and is included in a kit by Paula and Dan Minkebige at Crossed Wing Collection.
This quilt is displayed with Fast Finish Triangles.
This quilt earned $75 for the AAQI.
