Materials/Techniques: Cotton for the fabrics and batting, printable fabric to make the starfish appliqués using a photograph I took, nylon trim for one edge of the water, cotton trim for the water edge that meets the sand, water-soluble fabric pen to write the sentiment, DMC floss to embroidery the sentiment and starfish.
Artist's Statement: I wanted to make a small quilt that acknowledges the memory loss inherent in Alzheimer’s, so I wrote a sentiment I felt was soothing and gentle.

This quilt is displayed with a traditional sleeve.
This quilt earned $80 for the AAQI.
