4751 - A Rose is a Rose is a Rose ($40)

Brenda Suderman
Winnipeg, Manitoba CanadaWidth: 11.5"
Length: 8.75"
Materials/Techniques: Free pieced roses, machine quilted using cotton quilting fabrics.
Artist's Statement: Made as part of the Liberated Quilters challenge, these free-pieced roses represent beauty in another form. They're not symmetrical or precisely patterned, but they evoke the shape and smell of roses on a summer day, and remind us to appreciate our lives for what they are, even if they are touched by the destruction of a memory-robbing disease like Alzheimer's.
