Materials/Techniques: Freehand cut petal and greenery fused and raw edge appliquéd to the background. Pieced inner border.
Artist's Statement: I found this flower in one of my sketch books and decided that since the weather was too cool now for Sunflowers that maybe making one would be warming. So I just started cutting. Later I noticed that I had made one from the sketch a while back for AAQI, # 392. But the border was different for that one. Since this quilt was almost finished when I found the first one, I gave myself permission to use the design again.
