Aiken, SC USA Width:
Linen, cotton floss; embroidered with beads and pearls.Artist's Statement:
This Zentangle (a doodle that relaxes the doodler) reminds me of the signs and symptoms of Alzheimers. As flowers lose their petals, Alzheimer's victims lose their memory, develop language problems, have mood swings and personality changes. Soon they are not able to perform daily living activities and then they continue to progressively decline. I have added a blue/purple bead to the cluster of black beads to represent HOPE for a cure before the flower is gone.
Betyann Shaver Dedication:
In honor of my mother-in-law, Maxine Shaver, who is greatly missed by her family.
This quilt has a plain back
