Eleanor Goldsmith and Cheryl Bauer
Millsboro, DE / Annapolis, MD USAWidth:
Cotton fabric; fusible appliqué (not stitched), machine quilted.Artist's Statement:
This is one of many quilts created by Eleanor Goldsmith and her daughter Cheryl Bauer. Cheryl cuts the background fabrics to give a boundary for Eleanor's fusible appliqués which she cuts and places. Cheryl quilts and binds the quilts to finish them. Eleanor photographs each quilt before it is quilted and then again afterwards.
Eleanor and Cheryl make Priority: Alzheimer's Quilts together because it is fun to do, the quilts can be finished in one sitting, they go to a good cause, and the designing doesn't require a great deal of memory. Eleanor has Alzheimer's. She knows why she is making these quilts.
This is a familiar theme, a personal variation of a Matisse paper cut. We both love the Matisse paper cuts.
This quilt is displayed with Fast Finish Triangles
This quilt earned $44.75 for the AAQI.
