Artist's Statement: My parents were part of “The Greatest Generation.” During the Great Depression, they had to live the mantra of the time about frugality. This quilt was made from pieces of quilt blocks sewn, usually by hand, from the 30s, with the idea that these could be “used up” in a modern way.
