Diana D. Brock
Williamsville, NY USAWidth: 8.75"
Length: 11.75"
Materials/Techniques: My own photo printed on fabric, machine quilted and embellished with dimensional leaves.
Artist's Statement: On a recent walk, we passed a tree that was struggling, unsuccessfully, to retain its few leaves. It made me think of Alzheimer’s sufferers who are also struggling to retain something – their memories. The bare branches remind me of what has been lost, while the few remaining leaves represent what is left. The dimensional falling leaves are what is lost every day.
