Materials/Techniques: Fusing, hand appliqué, machine quilting.
Artist's Statement: This piece was inspired by the use of the black inserts in “Out of Control: In Memory of Bill” in the Alzheimer’s: Forgetting Piece by Piece exhibit. The black strips have interrupted the rainbow that is my mother’s life, but they cannot take away the beauty.
Dedication: To my mother, Carlene Malloy Nourse.
