Tuttle, OK USAWidth:
Made with 1¼” log cabin blocks pieced without foundations. The header of the quilt has a bordered 7/8” log cabin block with 1/8” logs. The branches are fused appliqué. The drawing in the center is done with Pigma pens and colored pencils.Artist's Statement:
I wanted to show off the new log cabins that are being built now, and the drawing depicts a more modern log cabin with picture windows and a porch. The log cabin is an old quilt block, but it can be updated in many ways and the bright color combinations are one way to do so.
My grandma didn’t live in a log cabin as far as I know, but her mother did. This is dedicated to them.
