Materials/Techniques: Hand embroidered on heliographic printed cotton fabric with cotton and silk embroidery threads, silk ribbon, beads, feathers and misc. gem stones.
Artist's Statement: I have dedicated this quilt to Ada M. Richard, RN. Mrs. Richard graduated from Nursing in the mid 1930's and worked as a nurse her whole life. When she no longer could live at home she was admitted to a facility that had a Dementia/Alzheimer Unit. One afternoon she called her daughter-in-law and stated she was sitting at the nurse’s station where she had interviewed for a job and was going to accept the position. She was well over 88 years old at the time.....Ada M. had a new beginning.
