Evanston, IL USAWidth: 9"
Length: 11.5"
Materials/Techniques: Bottom layer is vintage dress fabric, and that is covered with organza on which I printed the following poem over and over in different fonts.
My heart to you is given: Oh, do give yours to me;
We'll lock them up together, And throw away the key.
by Frederick Saunders
The large heart is a pretty paper napkin I couldn't bear to throw away that is glued to fabric with gel medium. The flower is made with fabric scraps and a grungeboard heart colored with gold Rub 'n Buff.
Artist's Statement: When I was researching valentines, I found the poem and the napkin was in sight and the piece just fell together!
