Tuttle, OK USAWidth:
Pieces of various fabrics, some of them rather small, went into the making of this quilt which is mostly fused raw edge appliqué. The quilting is fairly dense for the size of the quilt, but it does help give depth to the picture. Printed fabric with quilts on it and other pieces that could be cut to imitate quilt blocks were used. The child's chair with her dolly was just a detail, no quilt, but the teddy bear is hanging on to the appliquéd quilt draped over the chest. Even doggie has a quilt in his bed.Artist's Statement:
When Ami Simms suggested in her blog that our houses might actually be padded houses as hers is, I started counting quilts, but kept losing track, and then I was going to have to wait for someone to help me get the boxes of stored quilts off the shelves....... so I started thinking of a quilt to depict a padded room. This is what I came up with. No telling what the bedroom looks like.Dedication:
To Ami, who thinks up so many things, and follows through with them so successfully.
