Materials/Techniques: It is drawn free hand and uses color to suggest the meltdown of all the lives this disease touches. Fabric used is 100% cotton. The batting is Hobbs bonded polyester. Part of the design is paper pieced. It was placed on a background of fabric and the seams were covered by bias binding that also binds the quilt. It is hand quilted.
Artist's Statement: I designed this quilt to represent the melt down that not only effects the loved one that has Alzheimer's but the family, loved ones, and friends who also have a melt down of the memories they can no longer share with their loved one.
Dedication: To the researchers that will, one day, find a cure for this disease that steals dignity, hope and memories from so many.
