Materials/Techniques: Chenille squares, machine quilted, hand stitched binding.
Artist's Statement: When I was growing up and learning to tie my shoes or button awkward buttons, my mother would lovingly tease me about my fumble fingers. As my mother’s Alzheimer’s journey progressed, her fine motor skills disappeared and she spent more and more time aimlessly fondling the edges of her clothing, her blankets, or whatever else was nearby. The textures in this Priority Quilt are ones that she would have spent hours caressing.
