3383 - I Remember the Colors of Summer

Materials/Techniques: Hand dyed silk charmeuse (base) handpainted pimatex cotton with SetaColor for flowers. Hand dyed embroidery yarn for machine lace flower centers.
Artist's Statement: This was my first attempt at a totally pattern-less, cut as you-go design. I made the lace appliqués first as the focal points and designed around them.
Dedication: To a dear friend of my parents, Ann: You were a glorious flower in the Summers of my childhood. Still near in my heart.
This quilt is displayed with a hanging ring.
This quilt earned $100 for the AAQI.
