Materials/Techniques: Leaves scanned & printed on rusted cotton background (supplied by Lois Jarvis for the Stay At Home Challenge); free motion thread painting with copper metallic thread, free motion machine quilting.
Artist's Statement: I found these leaves on the Blue Ridge Parkway near Blowing Rock, NC. When I saw Lois' fabric I thought they would be perfect together. Fall leaves scatter with the wind, just as fragile as a mind trapped and scattered by Alzheimer's disease.

Dedication: To my father, Floyd B. Woodburn, Jr., who suffered and succumbed to Alzheimer's.
This quilt is displayed with a traditional sleeve.
This quilt earned $50 for the AAQI.
