Materials/Techniques: Cotton Fabrics, that quilted down, and an appliqué of a child done by machine, decorated with wooden beads and a scroll made of painted coffee filter, stamped with a happiness sign.
Artist's Statement: I wanted to do a simple quilt that represented Happy children. Something we all see and it makes us smile. Happiness when lost by disease like Alzheimer's is a tragedy. In truth, we think money, prestige, and power create happiness, but they don't. Not the kind that a smile, a hug, a caring word can bring to someone. So let my little quilt cause you to smile. Be Happy.
