3325 - Blackbirds Baked in A Pie

Materials/Techniques: The fabric used are hand dyed and rusted plus a woven scrap of Guatemalan fabric. The blackbirds are velvet that are appliquéd. The piecrust is a faux suede. 3 Abalone shell buttons with square sequins and black beads.
Artist's Statement: I began to think of old memories, things that Altzimer’s can rob. The Blackbirds Baked in a pie are from a simple 17th Century Nursery Rhyme. Just a small memory. How many small memories are robbed by this disease? A cure can't come too soon.
