3324 - Fox in the Flowers

Materials/Techniques: Cotton and home-dec fabric, fabric paint; raw edge appliqué.
Artist's Statement: This started with a piece of Lois Jarvis' Russ-Tex fabric which seemed to show the face of a fox. I surrounded it with scraps of fabric from a book of home decorator fabrics, with backing and frame from other pieces from that book. At this point the fox face faded so much into the background that I enhanced it with some Lumiere fabric paint.

Dedication: To my mother, Ella Konikow, whose sharp mind died before she did.
This quilt is displayed with a traditional sleeve.
This quilt earned $35.00 for the AAQI.
