Cotton Toile fabric, tatted bookmark on grosgrain ribbon.Artist's Statement:
The lace center was tatted by Linda's mother, 82 years young, who claims her active fingers keep her mind active. Tatting is an old skill that may date back hundreds of years to when fishermen used a similar technique to make their nets. More modern usage dates from the early 19th century and is a technique for handcrafting decorative lace using a series of knots and loops.Dedication:
To Linda's Mom.
