3175 - Between The Lines

Wanda Hanson and Julie Sefton
Sandwich, IL and Bartlett, TN USAWidth: 11"
Length: 8.5"
Materials/Techniques: Wanda shared two 9" orphan blocks with me and I used them (cut into narrow strips) for the background of this free-pieced Priority Quilt. I sent the finished top to Wanda in Illinois and she machine quilted it before mailing back to me in Tennessee. Truly a collaborative effort, Between The Lines was made in response to the Priority Hope challenge issued by Tonya Ricucci of LazyGal Quilting (http://lazygalhope.blogspot.com/).
Artist's Statement: As Mom progressed through her Alzheimer's journey, it became increasingly difficult for her to sign her name - before she could no longer write at all, she surely couldn't 'stay between the lines' ~ as bad as things were, HOPE allowed us to believe that there would be just one more "window" moment or day... and so we all keep trying...
Julie SeftonDedication: In honor and memory of my mother (1916-2005).
