Wanda Hanson and Julie Sefton
Sandwich, IL and Bartlett, TN USAWidth:
Wanda shared two 9" orphan blocks with me and I used them (cut into narrow strips) for the background of this free-pieced Priority Quilt. I sent the finished top to Wanda in Illinois and she machine quilted it before mailing back to me in Tennessee. Truly a collaborative effort, Between The Lines was made in response to the Priority Hope challenge issued by Tonya Ricucci of LazyGal Quilting (http://lazygalhope.blogspot.com/).Artist's Statement:
As Mom progressed through her Alzheimer's journey, it became increasingly difficult for her to sign her name - before she could no longer write at all, she surely couldn't 'stay between the lines' ~ as bad as things were, HOPE allowed us to believe that there would be just one more "window" moment or day... and so we all keep trying...
In honor and memory of my mother (1916-2005).
