Audrey Arno
Tuttle, OK USAWidth: 8"
Length: 9.5"
Materials/Techniques: Strip pieced cotton fabrics, mostly marbled or tone on tone prints.
Artist's Statement: A music teacher in grade school tried to get us to understand music by making a graph of it. She had us draw squares on paper much like the ones in this quilt, that went up and down as the music went to higher notes and then descended. Actually I don’t think we ever got much out of it, but the bargello quilts always remind me of that class.
Dedication: To all my past teachers.
