Nanette S. Zeller
Southern Pines, NC USAWidth:
Solar painted fabric, crayon rubbing, rubber stamps, and novelty quilting threads.Artist's Statement:
My Great-Aunt Dorothy was a kind soul, in her 90's she was never married and was proceeded in death by everyone in her family except nieces and nephews. At her mass, I watched the priest anoint her soul with his smoky globe. I hoped that with all the smoke her soul had risen to a better place and she could finally rest in peace. This quilt is part of a two-part series, the brother quilt was donated to my uncle's family (Dorothy's nephew) after he passed away from Alzheimer's disease in September 2008.Dedication:
For my Great-Aunt Dorothy, and all her family, who awaited her arrival at the big reunion party in heaven.

This quilt earned $50.00 for the AAQI.
