Materials/Techniques: Water soluble pencils, ribbon, rubber stamps, button, beads and novelty thread.
Artist's Statement: This is one of a two-part series called Dignity and Courage. I made the quilted fabric and then drew over the stitching with water soluble pencils. A spritz of water caused the pencil lines to bleed into a tie-dyed effect. The piece reminds me of standing tall and stepping away from the moment with courage, believing ultimately that miracles can happen if you try.
Dedication: For Ami Simms and all she does to promote AAQI. Her energy amazes me.
