Memphis, TN USAWidth: 10"
Length: 7.5"
Designer: This is a collaborative piece - started by Donna in Canada and finished by Julie in Tennessee.
Materials/Techniques: Captured bits and snippets of threads and flosses, netting, buttons, and so much more.
Artist's Statement: The final, unavoidable, warning sign for my mother was unpaid bills. She had always been more than meticulous with the checkbook, filing, and household paperwork so, when we found unpaid bills several months in a row, things had to change. Shaken from our denial, my sister and I could no longer ignore the obvious. When asked about anything, Mom's most frequent answer was "I'd rather be outdoors."
Julie SeftonDedication: For the families of those with Alzheimer's. We'd all rather "be outdoors" than deal with the hard choices, consequences, and heartbreaking issues.
