Materials/Techniques: Traditionally pieced turkey and geese with foodstuffs from several different fabrics fused behind and around the turkey.
Artist's Statement: Recently I uncovered a banner-like quilt I had made years ago for the front of my Mother’s walker when, as her memory and health failed, she was living at a nursing home. Since her birthday was near, and some years on Thanksgiving Day we always celebrated it with the turkey meal, so she was partial to Thanksgiving as a holiday. I had devised a design with two pieced turkeys and surrounded them with fall vegetables and flying geese. She was so happy and proud of it that I wanted to make a turkey similar to it once again.
Dedication: To my Mother and her sisters whom she cherished.
This quilt is displayed with Fast Finish Triangles.
This quilt earned $79.71 for the AAQI.
