Artist's Statement: This anonymous prayer was shared during a Spirituality in Alzheimer’s day long seminar that I took shortly after my mother’s formal diagnosis. These words broke my heart then and, even though she’s been gone almost two years now, continue to offer tremendous meaning.
I chose the border/backing fabric for its complexity, both color and texture. It visually captures the interwoven periods of joy and darkness that make up the Alzheimer’s journey.
