Materials/Techniques: This little quilt is made from the small scraps left from cutting up well washed old jeans for utility car blankets. Since many of the jeans were children's there were a lot of small pieces which were pieced together, then cut in to squares. One quilt had a pieced square that looked like the legs and body of an animal and that inspired this quilt. This was pieced sort of freehanded, with no real pattern and the animal can be whatever it looks like to the beholder, a dog? a horse? a pony? The "bird" is cut from around the stitching of a back pocket on a well worn pair of Jordache jeans. Green leaves and other details are done with fabric paints.

Artist's Statement: Maybe someone has a beloved child that would enjoy this harmless little quilt and the generous donation that person will make to Alzheimer's research may someday ensure that child will not have to even think about the toll Alzheimer's Disease causes to its victims and families.

Dedication: To the memory of my aunt, a school teacher who suffered from Alzheimer's Disease.
