Materials/Techniques: Hand dyed and commercial fabric, threads; appliqué, beading, couching, satin stitching.
Artist's Statement: I created a piece of orange thread-fabric by laying rayon thread over water-soluble stabilizer and then heavily stitching over the threads. After putting that thread-fabric on my background, I just kept having to add shapes, couched threads, beads, and satin stitching until the piece told me to stop. I kept all of the main components orange, but using different values in fabric and threads. I added green beads and sequins for contrast and some rest from the orange.

Dedication: For my three co-workers who are dealing with parents at different stages of Alzheimer's, something I hope my children never have to deal with.
This quilt has a plain back.
This quilt earned $50.00 for the AAQI.
