2080 - If I Were a Flower ($40)

Materials/Techniques: Hand dyed and commercial fabric, Angelina, threads.
Artist's Statement: I used water-soluble stabilizer and layered my thread ends that I have been saving with Angelina, and then stitched the dickens all over it. After washing out the stabilizer, I cut this thread-fabric into shapes and created my "flower". I quilted the background, then stitched my flower to the background. Finally I added grass which is more thread-fabric.

Dedication: For my three co-workers who are dealing with parents at different stages of Alzheimer's, something I hope my children never have to deal with.
This quilt is displayed with a hanging ring.
This quilt earned $40 for the AAQI.
