Materials/Techniques: Raw edge appliqué, painted fabric, thread painting.
Artist's Statement: I had an unsuccessful quilt which I cut up to use as canvasses for hopefully successful quilts. This "canvass" felt like a tree in the forest. So, I decided that I needed to add a bird, in this case, an eagle, even though some might think it looks like an owl. My eagle was thread painted on white sheer fabric and then appliquéd with more quilting added to secure and add dimension.

Dedication: For my three co-workers who are dealing with parents at different stages of Alzheimer's, something I hope my children never have to deal with.
This quilt is displayed with a hanging ring.
This quilt earned $45.00 for the AAQI.
