Artist's Statement: The title “Things Just Don’t Look Right” comes from my own experience. I had cardiac arrest and suffered brain damage, back in 1994. The thing I kept thinking was that nothing looked right. Nothing seemed to be right to me. It was all out of kilter. I didn’t remember that my daughters were old enough to be in school. I didn’t know why my husband’s hair was so gray. In fact, I didn’t know that I had a husband or children at first. My memory came back within a few years. The AD patients won’t be able to retrieve their memories unless a cure is found.

Dedication: For my friend, Chris, who is taking care of her great aunt, Ruby, and had been for about seven years. Ruby has forgotten a little bit more each day. Chris has suffered a little bit more each day. This past month, Ruby has forgotten how to chew her food and swallow. We never realize how much of our life depends on memory.

This quilt is displayed with a traditional sleeve.
