Materials/Techniques: Glitter; fused snippets to create background, fused leaf abstract (based on photo taken by maker) was created using techniques detailed by Liz Berg in Quilting Arts Magazine, hand beaded.
Artist's Statement: My family has been spared the tragedy of Alzheimer's so far. However, I imagine that for anyone experiencing this devastating disease -- whether as a sufferer, family member, or a caretaker -- reality is skewed and the world a bit tangled, twisted and surreal. Things aren't as they appear, just like these purple leaves.
