1997 - The White Tree

1997 - The White Tree
Jacqueline Bryant Campbell
Washington, DC   USA

Width: 11.5"   Length: 8"

Materials/Techniques: Commercial cotton fabric, rayon thread; fusing.

Artist's Statement: A white tree stands in a park near my home. When all of the other trees were beginning to leaf out in the spring, this starkly beautiful one was not. The contrast of this old tree against the younger ones is a reminder to appreciate the beauty that comes with age.
Jacqueline Bryant Campbell

Dedication: In honor of my grandmother, who has Alzheimer's. She has difficulty now finding the right words, but her sweet, cheerful voice remains unchanged. Right now, that is enough.
