Materials/Techniques: Cotton fabric and thread; metallic thread embroidery, hand-beaded spider.
Artist's Statement: This quilt is based on a photograph taken by my daughter, Annie, at Zion National Park in Utah. Annie is seriously afraid of spiders, but put aside her fear to photograph (without a telephoto lens!) this wondrous, pale yellow spider. This quilt celebrates bravery and beauty.
