1888 - Baby Steps ($125)

Materials/Techniques: Scraps of fabric laying next to each other in a scrap basket gave me the inspiration. Background is pieced and straight line quilted with variegated thread. Tree is a hand-dyed cotton fused down with fiber "leaves." Elephants are made of craft weight leather suede, with the markings drawn on with Sharpie fine tip markers.
Artist's Statement: I love elephants — and when I saw the pieced background it made me think of them!
