Artist's Statement: I call this quilt “Fragmented Memories” for two reasons. A couple of years ago our quilting group did a round robin. One of the ladies made our names in the fabric we included in our bag. I decided to make a huge bed pillow from mine when it was returned. One day I came home and our dog, which died the day after Easter, 2006, at age 15, had made himself a nest of my pillow (something he had never done before). And so I saved what I could. Today I made myself a small wall hanging from the kitten that had been embroidered on it, the sunbonnet Fred, and the G from Gloria in his memory.* I think someone will know a Lori who is a victim of Alzheimer’s. If you look at the back you will see the word "Lori," faint and fragmented.

This quilt is displayed with a hanging ring.

This quilt earned $15 for the AAQI.
