Materials/Techniques: 100% Cotton fabric, batting, and thread; machine pieced, machine quilted, binding hand stitched to back, embellished with Swarovski crystals.
Artist's Statement: This quilt is in honor of my maternal grandmother. The blue background is for her blue eyes. The diminishing color in the stripes represent how the color has drained from her daily life. And the crystals illustrate how her life shined bright as an inspiration to others, and how that brightness has dimmed.
