Artist's Statement: My uncle who has Alzheimer's, first spied my mother and my aunt, his future wife, with magnolia blooms in their long red hair, and he pronounced them true Southern ladies. For the next 64 years of their lives together, magnolias were always called Southern Ladies in my aunt's honor.

Dedication: For my uncle Bob and the Southern Lady he cherished.
