Materials/Techniques: 100% cotton flannel, 100% cotton Warm & Natural batting. Stack-n-Whack blocks pieced with Superior Threads 100% cotton MasterPiece. Free-motion quilted using Superior Threads 100% polyester MonoPoly on top and Superior Threads 100% polyester Bottom Line in bobbin.
Artist's Statement: Sightings of turtles while canoeing and kayaking on the White River, a nationally designated Scenic River in Western Michigan , inspired a series of three Stack-n-Whack quilts made of a whimsical turtle print.
Dedication: For my mother, Marie Gratton.
