Width: 10.5" Length: 8.25"
Materials/Techniques: This quilt was created by writing words with Sharpie onto Printed Treasures fabric, then the spaces were colored in with Fabrico Markers.
Artist Statement: The words in this quilt are tangled, much like Alzheimer's causes tangles in the brain, but they all relate to feelings about Alzheimer's disease. There are happy words, such as "family", "children" and "father" and sad words, such as "forgotten", "frustration" and "death". There are many, many overlapping words on this quilt, but the prevailing thought is hope. Hope for a cure, hope for the future, hope that no one else in my family will be affected by this horrible disease. We work to fund research and hope that one of the dollars we have raised will be the one that finds the key. Where there is life, there is hope.
Dedication: As always, dedicated to my dad who we lost much too soon on December 14, 2010, a victim of Alzheimer’s.
This quilt has Fast Finish Triangles.
This quilt earned $36.95 for the AAQI.
