Width: 9" Length: 11.5"
Materials/Techniques: I paper pieced a star using one of Michael Miller's Fairy Frost fabrics and used cotton batiks for the wonky logs of a log cabin design. Machine quilting was added to further support the theme of loss of direction and confusion so sadly typical of Alzheimer's disease sufferers.
Artist Statement: The design was based on my perception of the confusion we see in Alzheimer's patients. I also wanted it to be like looking for the light at end of a tunnel, a hopeful and brighter future in the treatment and a cure for this horrible disease.
Dedication: I dedicate my quilt to my father who I lost to Alzheimer's disease in 2012.
This quilt has Fast Finish Triangles.
This quilt earned $41.57 for the AAQI.
