Width: 8.5" Length: 11.5"
Materials/Techniques: Some of the fabrics are scraps from a lap-quilt I made for my mother-in-law while she was in an Alzheimer’s care unit. The quilt features paper piecing and raw edge appliqué.
Artist Statement: The empty rocking chair with a quilt hanging on the back represents that the usual occupant is not gone, just 'somewhere else.' The white lilacs are the flower for memory. They may have dropped a few petals, but they are still beautiful.
Dedication: To my mother-in-law, Irene.
This quilt has Fast Finish Triangles.
This quilt earned $65 for the AAQI.
