Remnants of a vintage family quilt top; quirky hand quilting.Artist's Statement:
This Priority Quilt includes a nearly-intact section from the quilt that was on my mother's bed after she was moved to assisted living. (I believe the top was originally pieced by my paternal grandmother.) After the fabrics became so worn that the seams could no longer be mended, it was passed along to me. I've been using sections of the tattered, tissue-paper thin top for the 9"x 12" backgrounds of my monthly journal quilts during 2007. And, since this is my 25th Priority Quilt, it somehow seemed more than appropriate to create this one using part of Mom's quilt.
For the caregivers.
