Width: 10.75" Length: 8.75"
Materials/Techniques: I have always wanted to use this print in some way so I cut it up and made an appliqué. I am not sure how it turned into a Statue of Liberty. I cut and fit fabric and used some Inktense pencils on the face, hair and shirt (the negative part). I cut out stars and appliquéd them and also made some thread stars. There is some free motion quilting and it is thread signed. The crown is lamé.
Artist Statement: When I took a screen print class many years ago, the assignment was to use a negative of ourselves in a screen print.
Dedication: To my mother who suffered from Alzheimer's and also to my two friends Ele' and Barbara who are caregivers and do such a wonderful job.
This quilt has Fast Finish Triangles.
This quilt earned $75.00 for the AAQI.
