1427 - Mindful Moodling, III (Irrational Exuberance) ($80)

Julie Sefton
Bartlett, TN USAWidth: 11"
Length: 8.5"
Designer: My evolving interpretation of the “thready” technique shown by Tonya R. on her lazygal blog.
Materials/Techniques: Made with a wide variety of cotton quilting fabric scraps hand-basted onto foundation fabric. I then used lots (!!) of shades of cotton embroidery flosses and a basic running stitch for the random (and deliberately uneven) hand quilting.
Artist's Statement: The first is this PQ series was Mindful Moodling (#1064). Next came Zerrissenheit (#1189) and Mindful Moodling, II (Kudzu, Jr.) (#1351). Now, Mindful Moodling, III continues with "utterly illogical" (irrational) "joyful enthusiasm" (exuberance).
Julie SeftonDedication: For my mother (1916-2005), who taught me how to thread a needle.
This quilt is displayed with a
hanging ring.
This quilt earned $80.00 for Alzheimer's research.
