Sunnyside, WA USA
Width: 11" Length: 8.5"
Materials/Techniques: Commercial cottons; hand-dyed focus fabric; pieced background; appliqué; low loft batting; my own design using Electric Quilt software.
Artist Statement: I drew this rooster quite a while ago. In early 2011, I received some of Beth Hartford’s beautiful hand-dyed fabric when I reached my $1000 Promise goal. It was a simple thing to put the pattern and the fabric together for a quilt and it was a great lot of fun to make.
Dedication: To Beth Hartford, Ami’s hard-working volunteer who registers all the quilts that come in to the Priority Quilt project. I’ll never meet her but I’ve really enjoyed working with her as I check the registered quilts for the Honor Roll. I’m supposed to tell her if I find any obvious errors. As an example of the email notes we exchange, I once emailed that “In quilt #13,857, Ms. Boomer wrote that she lives in Laguna Niguel, CA, CA. This is not necessarily wrong wrong, it’s just a little odd odd.” Within fifteen minutes, Beth answered, “OK, I’ve got it fixed fixed.”
This quilt has a Split Sleeve.
This quilt earned $65.00 for the AAQI.
